Mid of Summer, full of vigor. The 2023 China International Paper Technology Exhibition and Conference (hereinafter referred to as “CIPTE”), co-organized by China Paper Association, China Technical Association of Paper Industry and China International Pulp and Paper Research Institute, was grandly inaugurated at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center on August 14. Leaders and colleagues in paper industry gathered again in Shanghai to see the spectacular opening of the 2023 CIPTE, to discuss the high-quality development plan of paper industry and share the results of sustainable development and innovation.

At the opening ceremony, Bo Sun, the Chairwoman of China International Pulp and Paper Research Institute, made a speech on behalf of the organizer and extended a warm welcome to the leaders and guests who attended our exhibition. This is the 30th session of CIPTE . Our Chairwoman, Bo Sun, expressed her heartfelt thanks to new, old friends and exhibitors who have given attention and support to CIPTE. She pointed out in her speech that in the first half of 2023, China’s industrial economy was recovering and developing in good direction. Our market demand was expanding gradually, the domestic economy was circulating smoothly, the relationship between supply and demand was improving step-by-step, the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry was pacing firmly, and the positive progress in promoting new industrialization was still advancing. These all laid a solid foundation for full scale economy recovery.
As an important basic raw material industry, paper industry is closely related to the development of the national economy and social undertakings. Guided by the national innovation-driven development strategy and the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, we will further increase the development and reformation of energy-saving and low-consumption new technologies, new products and new equipment. Then crack the dilemma of the shortage of fiber raw materials in the industry, promote the transformation and development of our products to the field of green new materials and drive the high-quality development of the industry with a high level of scientific and technological self-reliance.

2023 China International Paper Innovation Forum:
Focusing on High-quality Development and Innovating Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Technology
The 2023 China International Paper Innovation Forum was held on the afternoon of August 14th. The theme of this forum is Focusing on High-quality Development and Innovating Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Technology. It closely ran around the triple pressure under the new situation faced by paper industry: demand contraction, supply impact, and expectation weakening.
Our forum invited Leaders of related departments, well-known experts inside and outside our country, industrial entrepreneurs and colleagues from paper industry. They discussed carbon peaking and carbon neutrality technology, safeguard of raw materials, green ecology, green packaging, pulp molding, and other popular topics. The discussions and communications between leaders and experts were aimed at high-quality development of the paper industry and carbon peaking and carbon neutrality technology. Industry colleagues devoted themselves to plan and balance the contradiction between the progress of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality strategy and the growth of capacity, in order to improve the stable and healthy development and virtuous circulating of the paper industry.

2023 International Paper Technical Conference:
Focusing on Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality, Leading to Green and Environment-friendly Development
The 2023 International Paper Technology Report will be held on August 15th. It will focus on green and low-carbon transforming of the paper industry, exploring and solving the scientific and technological problems of the paper industry, and will pay attention to some much-talked-about topics. For instance, the innovation of advanced paper-based functional materials, diversified transformation of pulp, and development of green and low-carbon technologies of the paper industry.
